Decision Trees
-
Many inductive knowledge acquisition algorithms generate („induce“) classifiers in form of decision trees.
- A decision tree is a simple recursive structure for expressing a sequential classification process.
- Leaf nodes denote classes
-
Intermediate nodes represent tests
-
Decision trees classify instances by sorting them down the tree from the root to some leaf node which provides the classification of the instance.
